Above all, ELA offers a place where people can listen to each other and feel less alone in the face of the disease and its consequences. The association is also a privileged interlocutor on which families can rely to find administrative, social, psychological, material or financial support. ELA provides them with information that will enable them to better understand the disease and its evolution. Since its creation, ELA invested <span style=\"color: #df156e;\"><strong>\u20ac16.7 million<\/strong><\/span> in supporting families.<\/p>\n                <\/p>\n            <\/div>\n\n            \n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"article-content landing-page\">\n\n    <div class=\"container-content-small\">\n        <div class=\"image-text image-left mt-4\">\n\n                        <div class=\"image\">\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ela-asso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/mission02.png\" alt=\"\">\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"text\">\n                <h3 class=\"heading\">\n                    Supporting                <\/h3>\n                <h4 class=\"subheading\">\n                    medical research                <\/h4>\n                <p>\n                    <p>ELA&#8217;s objective is to help French and international research laboratories to better understand the mechanisms of the disease, to identify the genes responsible and to develop new therapeutic strategies to fight leukodystrophies.<br \/>\nELA is the leading funder of leukodystrophy research. To date, a total of <span style=\"color: #df156e;\"><strong>601 research projects<\/strong><\/span> have been funded for a total of <strong><span style=\"color: #df156e;\">\u20ac51.9 million<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n                <\/p>\n            <\/div>\n\n            \n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"article-content landing-page\">\n\n    <div class=\"container-content-small\">\n        <div class=\"image-text image-left mt-4\">\n\n                        <div class=\"image\">\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ela-asso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/mission03b.png\" alt=\"\">\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"text\">\n                <h3 class=\"heading\">\n                    Raising                <\/h3>\n                <h4 class=\"subheading\">\n                    public awareness                <\/h4>\n                <p>\n                    <p>Many events shape the life of the ELA association. They raise awareness of leukodystrophies among the general public and contribute significantly to the collection of donations for the fight against these diseases.<br \/>\nELA operates mainly with funds from the generosity of the public. This means that everyone\u2019s help is essential for these events.<\/p>\n                <\/p>\n            <\/div>\n\n            \n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"article-content landing-page\">\n\n    <div class=\"container-content-small\">\n        <div class=\"image-text image-left mt-4\">\n\n                        <div class=\"image\">\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ela-asso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/mission04.png\" alt=\"\">\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"text\">\n                <h3 class=\"heading\">\n                    Developing its action                <\/h3>\n                <h4 class=\"subheading\">\n                    at the international level                <\/h4>\n                <p>\n                    <p>One of ELA&#8217;s missions is to develop on an international level. Since 2000, ELA has promoted the creation of new branches in Europe and in May 2012 opened an ELA Indian Ocean branch on La R\u00e9union Island.<br \/>\nELA now exists in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Spain, the Indian Ocean and Switzerland. It also maintains relationships with counterparts in Europe and the United States.<br \/>\nTo unify the action of all ELA branches and because research against leukodystrophies is global, ELA International was created in 2015 to increase its action in Europe and worldwide.<\/p>\n                <\/p>\n            <\/div>\n\n            \n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":17313,"parent":6776,"menu_order":4,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-7645","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
