ELA is renewing its connected solidarity challenge to mark European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (EWPED) 2023.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The challenge of access to employment for people with disabilities<\/h3>\n

Leukodystrophies<\/strong> are neurodegenerative diseases that gradually destroy the myelin (the nerve sheath) of the nervous system, leading to severe disabilities in both children and adults. The European Leukodystrophy Association (ELA) provides information and support, and helps fund projects to compensate for the disability (travel aids, financial compensation for reduced activity, etc.).<\/p>\n

How can you access employment without the necessary adaptations such as :
\n– mobility aids (vehicle, wheelchair),
\n– workstation adjustments (working hours, ergonomics),
\n– or financial compensation for reduced activity?<\/p>\n

Let’s all take steps for ELA!<\/h3>\n

ELA is renewing its online solidarity challenge “Steps for ELA!”<\/strong><\/span> to raise public awareness of the challenges of access to employment for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

From 20 to 26 November, get out there and take as many steps as you can!<\/strong>
\nTo take part:<\/strong>
\n\u2022<\/span> download the free “Mets tes baskets” application<\/span> from the AppStore and PlayStore,
\n\u2022<\/span> enter the challenge code 132713,<\/span>
\n\u2022<\/span> and the app will count your steps<\/span> throughout the week.<\/p>\n
