Real Madrid and ELA together for children with leukodystrophies

Having launched ELA Spain in 2005 with Raul Gonzales Blanco, his friend from Real Madrid and fellow ELA ambassador, , Zinédine Zidane has now got Europe’s most prestigious club involved in supporting the European Leukodystrophy Association (ELA).

The Real Madrid-Valladolid game on October 17th was the occasion for a special day aimed at promoting the fight against leukodystrophies to as large a public as possible. The Madrid players brought a 6 metre by 3 metre banner onto the pitch before kick-off. Ángel, a little boy suffering from leukodystrophy was present at the game alongside Zinédine Zidane, Guy Alba, the President and founder of ELA and Benito Corral, President of ELA Spain. It was another opportunity for Zinédine Zidane to reaffirm his commitment to ELA and for the association to promote its work at the European level.

Meeting the Real Madrid players

The ELA families met the Real players at the club in the morning on Friday October 16th. This was a great moment for the children suffering from leukodystrophies who were happy to meet Raul, an ELA ambassador since 2005, Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Karim Benzema and many others…
