  • Galactocerebroside : A major glycolipid in the myelin sheath.
  • Gene : Segment of DNA that carries the building code for one specific protein.
  • Gene therapy : Procedure involving the insertion of a normal gene into an organism in order to achieve a therapeutic objective. This gene (transgene) can be the normal version of a defective gene causing disease or a gene that produces a protein with any therapeutic action.
  • Genome : The full set of genes in a cell.
  • Genomics : Groups the different types of genome analysis (mapping, sequencing, functional study).
  • Genotype : Genetic characteristic of an organism.
  • Germ cells : The reproductive cells of the body, either egg or sperm cells.
  • Glial cells : Cells of the nervous system that provide support and nutrition to the neurons.
